Details

I hope you all enjoy this beautiful memorial day home decor we created. We made this for our fallen heroes using two beautiful fonts from Makers Gonna Learn! This was made with a beautiful Chalk Contour frame. Those frames are great for working with vinyl. It sticks to those frames so well! You can use tons of different types of frames, so no worries if you don't have any Chalk Couture frames. We're using the fonts Blown Away and Butterfly Kisses to create this project.

Materials

  • Cricut Maker or Other Die Cutting Machine
  • Frame
  • Measuring Tape
  • Weeding Tools
  • Black Vinyl
  • Transfer Tape
  • Scissors
  • StandardGrip Mat

How to Make This Project

  1. Measure your frame in Design Space and add that same sized square and change the color to white. This will make a great template for you to design your font project.
  2. We used the fonts to create our quote. Play around with the words and phrases until you get it how you like it. A good trick is to add every word in its own separate text box. That gives you maximum control of your design.
  3. Once you have everything the way you want it, delete the white template box you made and weld the whole design together.
  4. Load your mat, set your material, and let the Cricut cut.
  5. Once cut burnish your vinyl well before weeding, this will help!
  6. After you weeded your vinyl add transfer tape and remove the backing after burnishing.
  7. Carefully position your vinyl where you'd like it to go on your frame. Burnish well then slowly remove your transfer tape.
